what kind of clothes do i need to pack if im going to northern thailand?
I'm going to northern thailand in november and will be backpacking and rafting, i'll just have a technical pack (osprey stratos 36) and will be in thailand for a total of 5 weeks, but I'll only be using the pack for 2 weeks.
Light clothing. Bring 1 or 2 sets of long sleeved/legged light material shirt/pants. Incase you're surrounded by alot of mosquitos. Bring 3-4 sets of t-shirts/shorts. Maybe a light raincoat as it still might rain in Nov. Also maybe 1-2 pairs of socks and a (very light) pullover or jacket for the weather can get a tad bit cool in the north in the evening at this time (November-December). Should be mostly nice though. Everything in the north/Thailand is cheap and I usually recommend people to travel lightly. Laundry service is available everywhere for about 10 baht/piece - washed, dried and ironed. Or you could just as easily do ur own laundry in the guesthouse/hotel washrooms. Overpacking is almost always the biggest mistake. U'll come home with alot more than u arrived with and on top of that It's easy to get ur clothes clean. Personally I'd travel with 4-5 sets of clothing. Shirts, shorts etc. can be purchased at 3-6 dollars each here if u feel u need more (doubtful) and it's so convenient to buy anything u need...unless you're on top of some isolated mountain somewhere. If you're ever near a Big C or Lotus department store you'll never have to haggle for prices as they're set and about as cheap as u can get anything...from clothing, toiletries and food to electronics and pharmaceuticles.
