What is a good Ultralight setup for thru-Hiking The AT?
I'm planning on starting my first ever thru-hike of the AT around April of 2011. I wanted to know what a good ultralight setup would be. Anything and everything from Shoes/boots to backpacks and everything in between. Thanks a lot for helping.
I like the REI Quarter Dome T2 Tent. it fits one person very well and two in a pinch, it ways 3lbs 12oz. better then any hammock or bivy or tarp as it keeps you and your gear dry allows you to move around in comfort and is a free standing tent. The hennesy as suggested is a worthless ground cloth if you are above tree line or anywhere there are no trees. Also the T2 keeps you a lot warmer on those cold wet days the hennesy is a rain catching refrigerator.
