One of the online travel guides lists mountain ranges close to Tucson, Arizona. What are they, and do they have good hiking trails and things to see?
there are "mountain" ranges, yes. There are a few national parks around with hiking trails. North of Tuscon, maybe 45-50 miles or so is Picacho Park with hiking trails. You'll need a fair level of fitness and gloves for the cables. Only really great thing about this place is the view from the top. Other than that, it's just good exercise and good risk of injury if your a clumsy person and fall off a ledge.
Ya know, a google search for "Arizona Parks" or something similar would get you further than asking on here. Here you get asinine remarks like "nothing exciting to see except rocks and cacti".
Which is not true. We have National Parks, some offering horse-back riding, we have jack rabbits, road runners, el cupacabra, coyotes, illegal imigrants, good burritos, and the country's lousiest chinese resteruants.
