What is the Best GPS For Hiking and geocaching?
Strange, all the other folks have suggested various automotive GPS units, and these are inherently unsuited for hiking and geocaching, and most could not be used in those application under any circumstances.
I don't know what your price range is, but for now the tried and true caching GPS is the Garmin 60CSx, and any good caching GPS will be suitable for hiking. Street price is a bit under $300 these days. You can cache and hike for under $100 with some models, but there are lots of drawbacks at that price level. In between the two, there are lots of choices from Garmin, Magellan, and new entries in the caching field, the DeLorme PN-20 and PN-40 (I've got a PN-40 on order). I love my 60 CSx, but some of the features of the PN-40 were too hard to resist.
