Macroeconomics: Labor Supply and Labor Demand?
1. An oil embargo in the Middle East cuts supplies of oil to the US.
2. A huge scientific breakthrough doubles US labor productivity.
3. The Cleveland Indians win the World Series.
4. Migration to the United States increases the working-age population.
5. US labor unions negotiate wage hikes that affect all workers.
Sort each event into the following four groups (changes the production function, changes the demand for labor, changes the supply for labor, does not change anything) and explain which way and why the curve shifts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am very confused.
