Light Hiking Boots
What should I wear in Colorado?
I'm taking a weekend trip to Colorado on Nov. 12. I have been told that it may be snowing at that time. I will be in the Denver area. I am from Texas where winter drops into the low 50's for the most part, we only see 30's for a few days, and it hasn't snowed here significantly since 1985. So what should I bring on this trip? I won't be skiing, maybe some light hiking, but that's about it. I've got some gore-tex wicking thermals that i used to wear for cycling, so I will be taking those, but as for being out in the snow, what kind of shoes/boots? Pants, or are jeans ok? Thank you for all of your input.

It will keep your skin dry from your sweat or from the snow....
Use lots of layers.. better to have them, get too hot and then take off what you need.
NEVER wear cotton.. once it gets wet, it stays wet and will make you *really* cold the whole time.
For hiking, I would wear a thin layer of polypro, then a heavy-weight bottoms topped off with ski pants. On the top wear 2-3 layers of long-sleaved polypro and a warm outdoor jacket that is water repellent.
Wear gortex hiking boots and good, padded socks.
