Hiking Yellowstone National Park
Hiking Yellowstone National Park

Am I going to be warm enough on my trip to Yellowstone and Grand Titon?
I am planning to go on a hiking trip through those two national parks this February. I have virtually no gear, so I'm starting my kit from scratch. I'm hoping to avoid the expense of buying a high-quality jacket and snow pants by instead buying a waterproof and insulated coverall.
My friends think I'll step into a river and be in serious trouble, since I wont be able to change my pants, as they'll be attached to my jacket. I, however, think the coverall will free me to layer more "casually" underneath, meaning that I'll be able to use my two sets of long underwear and my many sweaters and so on, instead of buying all sorts of new gear. Plus, the coverall in question:
Walls® Water-Pruf® Breathable Scentrex® Coveralls
is waterproof, so if I stepped into a river, between these and my waterproof boots I'd be alright. Right?
What do you think? Will the Coverall cut it?
The Walls® Water-Pruf® Breathable Scentrex® Coveralls are a very good choice for your requirements.
There is heavier weight insulation in freezer suit style garments but the water proof benefits will no doubt help a lot more. As far as stepping a river I wouldn't trust any garment outside of a wetsuit in the middle of winter. The waterproof capabilities really depend on the circumstance and when you are exposed to extreme weather conditions you must be careful.
The Walls® Water-Pruf® Breathable Scentrex® Coveralls do have some very good features such as
# Heavy Weight Polyester Fiberfill Insulation with Thinsulate in Chest and Back
# Double Layer Insulation in Chest & Back Panels
# Water-Proof Seam Tape at All Seams
