What kind of animal laughs like a human?
I was hiking at the Eagle Rock Loop.....at night it got pitch black and couldnt see anything. Around 10:30pm i heard a creepy laugh that sounded like if it was about 15 to 20 ft. away from me. I freeked out since there are no campers within a 2 mile radious. I waited to hear footsteps but heard nothing for 2.5 hours. The ground was fool of dry leafs and any sudden move could be heard because the area was quit and all you can hear is the river and the leafs on the trees from the wind. I was thinking it was a bird of some sort or second thought.....something supernatural.
I was with my best friend and we both heard the laugh....as far as I know Arkansas does not have Hyinas or Apes. The best answer so far is a bird.....thanx everyone.
The only animal that can mimick a human sound are birds.
