Emigrating to BC, Canada?
Hi, I am looking at emigrating to Canada from the UK and Vancouver island is the place i keep coming back to when looking at areas...it's beautiful! All i really need to know is whatt you guys think are the best places to live, I have recently graduated in psychology and am training to be a psychotherapist and my partner is a baker. We have been looking at lake Cowichan and the surrounding areas, as well as the Sunshine coast but would love to hear about other areas too in terms of things to do (we love anything, places to eat/drink,water sportss, shopping, hiking etc.) I would love tosomewheree that is visually stunning butisn'tt too secluded, ie. has plenty of jobs. i would appreciatee any help!!! thanks!!!
The best place is likely Victoria but Courtenay and Nanaimo are also excellent choices. Finding employment is a little difficult in areas with less then 100,000 people but lots of people commute along the island highway as well. The Sunshine coast is beautiful but a little bit for most people immigrating from the UK.
Courtenay is my home town with great hiking, kayaking, rivers and skiing. It has Comox and Cumberland right on its doorstop as well.
Victoria is the best for employment with given your professions. There are lots of small local bakeries in Victoria and a large enough population for a Psychotherapist to make a go of it.
