Does Camp Dry water repellent also work in the snow?
If I sprayed my hiking boots with several layers of water repellent (Camp Dry), would my boots stay dry in the snow?
(Snow Gaiters would also be used.)
I'm pretty sure it would work. The reason snow makes your boots wet is the first place is that it melts onto them. You're still dealing with liquid water, just make sure you do a really good job around the seams, because snow has a tendency to get crammed into crevices and that would be the weakest point in your plan.
