Help with places to see in L.A and San Diego California?
Hi, I'm taking a vacation down to southern California and I was wondering if anyone know any great places I can see, do, go (excluding attraction parks such as Disneyland, Six Flag, Sea World). I'm looking foward to going to
*beaches that maybe has a peir/attractions or just plain beautiful.
*Nice malls (outdoor mall is a PLUS)
*hiking trials with beautiful seneries
*BEAUTIFUL sights to see in L.A and San Diego
*nice strip/ walkway/ boardwalk for night time
*Just beautiful places I can see in L.A and San Diego
The only thing I really have down is;
Los Angeles County -
*Hollywood Walk of Fame
*Santa Monica peir/Santa Cruz Boardwalk
San Diego-
*Baboa Park
*La Jolla Cove Beach
*Pacific Beach
*Old Town San Diego
Please help, i'm spending a whole week there and I need more places/more things to do/see. Thanks in advance!
People in Los Angeles come to San Diego to getaway. (just kidding you Angelenos) So far what you have listed in San Diego is very nice. In Balboa Park you will find great museums and the San Diego Zoo. You asked about an outdoor mall. I suggest Fashion Valley just minutes from all the things you have listed here.
Also just minutes from there is the old Point Loma Lighthouse. It's a state park so it will cost a small fee. The tidepools can be reached from there also and it's a beautiful spot.
In La Jolla visit the Scripps Birch Aquarium. Also see the seals that have taken over completely at once was called Children's Pool at the La Jolla Cove.
For a true flavor of beach living I would suggest Ocean Beach with it's very long pier. It is adjacent to Sunset Cliffs, a beautiful walk. Go at sunset (obviously) This beach again is just minutes from anywhere in San Diego. Lots of antique shops and really a laid back community.
Mission Beach has an old amusement park (Belmont Park) with an old wooden roller coaster. This beach is a short walk along the boardwalk, south of Pacific Beach. It has nightclubs there as well.
I would also take time to visit some place like Julian CA just east of San Diego in the mountains.
