If A man cheats one time do you think he will again?
We have been in A relationship for 9 years.He said he was not happy and wanted to end it.He had someone he has been talking to for A couple of months.He came home 7 days later said he wanted to work things out.5 days after that,he said he was wrong and wanted to see the other girl but stay home for the kids.I said hell no take A hike.packed all his things .He came back 2 days later and said he broke up with her and wanted to be home with his family.He has been home sence then and has been great.Oh yea,the time he was home for 5 days he was seeing her and sleep with her.I know he is not seeing her now,but do you think he will see someone if had the oppertunity.Or is he looking for A way out.
I honestly don't think you can believe 'once a cheater always a cheater'
I believe that all people are different. That's like saying 'no girl would take back a guy who cheats on her'.....but it happens. There are people who have affairs and realize that they hurt people and they don't do it again. They actually LEARN from their mistake.
It does sound like he was open with all of this with you....so it seems like you could believe him if he told you he'd never do it again.
Perhaps you should look into WHY he was looking elsewhere. Is there something that you did that made him feel like there was a problem? If he says it's because of something dealing with you, but it's not something that will change, then it probably will happen again.
You really need to find out WHY he did it. I don't believe people when they say 'they don't know.'
What really matters here is if YOU can get past this. If this is something that will always be on your mind, then you might want to let him go. You've got to trust him for your relationship to work. It'll take time, it will take a lot of work, but only YOU can decide if it's going to work, and if he is actually being sincere.
