What type of tree is this?
Last week I went hiking and saw a tree that I have never seen before. It was in Northern California and stood about 20-25 feet tall. It was some sort of pine and looked like a giant bonzai tree. I didn't have a camera with me, but brought home a sample that was on the floor.

Can anyone tell me what type of tree this is??
Geez, that's a hard one. It would be easier with a bigger sample!
You can look in an audabon (I think that's the spelling) tree guide for california in a bookstore. Good luck! I'm curious now.
