Hiking Lake Tahoe
Any ideas to get my 4 year-old black lab/Australian Shepherd to stop eating grass?? I read other answers...?
I live in Lake Tahoe and she eats quite a bit of grass while on hikes/bike rides and going to the beach (almost every day). I am pretty sure that she is just a pig...first thing in the morning/every evening after work she immediately runs and sits/lays down next to her food container and whines insistently until I feed her. I have been feeding her Eukanuba since she was a puppy (puppy then and large breed since she was 9 or 10 months) and she gets a carrot or 2 everyday. She acts normal other then this and puking 2 or 3 times a month after a good grazing, and only in the summer time since there is snow on the ground from nov/dec-april/may. I know I could error on the side of caution and take her to the vet but I don't feel like I have anything to worry about. Oh yeah, she has hypothyroidism and I give her a thyroid pill every AM, but I doubt its related. Should I be concerned?
No need to worry about anything. It is normal for a dog to eat grass. There is not a dog alive that hasn't ate grass from time to time. And the one that said it is because of the dog food doesn't know what she is talking about. Its not because of anything you have fed her. She just wants the grass and yea its mainly because her belly might be a little upset or she has a taste for grass.
