About nursing license in north carolina,camp lejeune?
I am a registered nurse in california and a military wife. We just moved to north carolina. I want to work as a nurse in camp lejeune marine base here in north carolina. Do i have to transfer my RN license california to RN LICENSE NORTH CArolina???? Or would they allow me to work as an RN inside the marine base with my CAlifornia RN license??????PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot.
Normally civilian nurses working in a state, even on military bases must have a license to practice as an RN in that State.
Military RNs do not have that requirement, due to the nature of the military to move nurses from base to base, and even send them on temporary duty to fill at other hospitals when needed.
You should contact the Department of Nursing Services at the Naval Hospital - Camp Lejune to determine the regulations for that facility.
They might also be able to provide you with information regarding open positions at the hospital.
