Some tips for hiking as a woman?
I'm going backpacking in about a week. It is going to be about 4 miles, mostly flat but some ups and downs, at a higher altitude than I am used to working out at. We are camping out the night there and coming back the next day. I'm not in fantastic shape, but I've been on these trips before and done okay. I need some tips on what kind of pants and underwear to wear to prevent chafing? I may be on my period, how do I handle that? General guidelines from woman who do backpacking trips? How can I physically prepare for the hike, since that is more than I usually do, and I have a bad cardio system? Thank you
Do what a man would do. There's no difference between a man and a woman besides our 'plumbing'.
Just try not to get too sweaty.. that will cause chafing. Bring baby powder or something like that to put on areas where that happens.
About your period- just take some supplies, pads and/or tampons and some toilet paper and a bag you can put personal trash in.
Don't over-do yourself. When you need a break- take one. Do not push your body for more than what it can handle. Have faith in yourself. If you believe that you can't do it- that will be your downfall.
Also, when out in the woods like that, just be aware of your surroundings.
