Camping And Rving With Dogs
Camping and Rving with Dogs
Hello - I'm looking for good places to camp in PA or NJ that are extremely remote and private...?
Hello, looking to camp with my dogs somewhere where I'm not 25 feet from other campers.... Ideally, are there places where you can drive and do tent camping (or RVing) that are very isolated?
Thanks!
Tom
For NJ you are out of luck, because it is NJ after all! Round Valley Reservoir has the only real wilderness camping as State Parks go. You have to access the camp sites by hiking or boating. To paddle across it is about 2 miles. To do it by foot I think it is between 3 to 5 miles depending on the camp site and no dogs are allowed in camp. You can also do the Delaware River in the National Park Section. There are numerous camp sites along the way, but they are mostly accessed by boat once again. If you are closer to south jersey there is Lebanon and Wharton State Forest. Most people I know do recon camping there, but Wardens do check during the night. If you are trying to do the RV thing I would look into Pa, you’ll be packed like sardines here in Jersey. You might want to look into the Adirondacks; it is about 4 to 5 hours from central jersey. It will take years to explore all its remote sections. The only other thing I can think of is the Appalachian Trail, but that is strictly hiking, but dogs are welcomed.
Sorry Tom Good Luck.
