Backpacking In Utah
Any suggestions for a good place for three day backpacking trip in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, or California?
I want to go on a 3-4 day backpacking trip but dont know of any good locations. I live in Utah so I am looking for somewhere relatively close (in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, or California). I was hoping to hike somewhere between 10 and 20 miles. Any suggestions??
In New Mexico:
1) El Malpais http://www.discovernlcs.org/TheNLCS/ConservationAreas/ElMalpais.cfm
2) Gila Wilderness
3) Bisti
4) Santa Fe and Carson National Forests
5) Consider the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. It runs through the whole state and you can select the area you want to section hike and go for as long as you like (link:http://www.cdtrail.org/page.php?pname=about/newmexico)
